MacPokerTools Search for the Best Mac Training Site. Featuring: Poker Pwnage

Poker Pwnage Tournament coaching specialistsIn this next feature we will be switching over to some MTT specialists for all our tournament players. If you are looking to score big, and consistently, it is a good idea to learn and study current MTT strategy. I have spent the last few months at Poker Pwnage, and what I have found is truly impressive. When these guys first hit the scene, the buzz was that these were the guys to keep your eyes on. Since then, not only have they delivered, they also have managed to reach the pinnacle of online MTT poker coaching. Poker Pwnage features some of the hottest pro's online today. With their ability to produce clean, informative, quality training videos, at the price they do, its going to be hard to find a better MTT coaching site. If you are a present or past member of Poker Pwnage, please feel free to comment and mention anything you feel I have missed.

Poker Pwnage:
Poker Pwnage
Poker Pwnage has been on the MTT coaching fast track since their inception. The buzz about this site is warranted, and can be found in about every MTT coaching thread on the internet. After visiting the site for the past few months, it is easy to see why. The first thing that you notice about the site, is the solid "family" type atmosphere. All the pros, both headlining, and members are active in the forums, and bend over backwards to help everyone. When you post your hand histories, you receive almost instant feedback. The forums are very active and can be an integral part of your training. Here you can find the answers to about any possible scenario you can imagine. Have a question about a spot you were in? Post it, and find out how you did or did not do. There are some pretty nice threads that have started this way, and all benefit. In the MTT Strategy forum you will find the weekly member tournament where the top three finishers receive a free 1 hr one-on-one  coaching session. This tourney offers one of the best values on the internet, and worth the cost of Poker Pwnage alone. For newer/lower buy-in players (like me), this tournament allows you to mix it up with some top class players, instead of the typical donkfests that we find ourselves in. The tourney is super friendly and filled with great conversation. The tourney kicks off at alternate times(12:00/7:30pm's Eastern) and places(FullTilt/PokerStars) every week to help accommodate all. I have seen as few as 8 players and up to 15 play in this tourney, so odds are heavily in your favor for some quality 1 on 1 coaching.

The Pros:
These are the guys at the heart of this site. Their skills, professionalism, and dedication to their craft and students is readily apparent. Drawing from their own experiences, and the interactions with members, they pack loads of information into each one of their video lessons. I feel that their close interaction with the members on the site, and in the forums, truly lends to the quality of each video, and its ability to "speak" to each member individually. Each pro has achieved a high level of success in the online and live poker worlds, lending credence to what they teach. My testing of the site happened to coincide with the WSOP, making it a very exciting time with deep runs by Sketchy1, and FU_15 in the Main Event. A Final Table in event #11 by Chardrian. Plus a bracelet for Mattg1983 in event #40(10K PLO), making him a multiple bracelet winner! The headlining pros are: Russell "rdcrsn" Carson, Matt "Mattg1983" Graham, Jon "Sketchy1" Eaton, Tom "TitanTom32" Braband, USCPhildo, Dave "Ghettofabolous" Randall, Alexander "Assassanato" Fitzgerald, Nathan "nsinger" Singer, Jerry "hershelw" Watterson, Chardrian, Ben "NeverScaredB" Wilinofsky, Brett "bballwiz" Fox, Damien "Zedveron" Elsing, E.J. "cardsfan04" Folks, and Carder "+ to the EV!" England. With a roster like that, who can go wrong?

Poker Training Videos

Poker Pwnage has one of the most extensive and comprehensive collections of MTT based videos on the internet. With them they are able to deliver the highest quality training around. By recording their own successes, and by taking feedback from their involvement in the forums, Pwnage pros effectively and efficiently release relevant videos keeping the lesson value and quality high and hard to beat. Step into the minds of these pros and watch and learn as they play. Be able to hear the reasoning behind each play, as it happens. The video player works flawlessly on the mac, making Poker Pwnage Mac friendly.
The videos they produce are clear, informative, focused, easy to understand, and many times fun to watch. The only negative I can find about Poker Pwnage, is the lack of a download option for their videos. (There are plans to offer downloads in the future) With videos that span the full buy-in and ability spectrums, there is something for everyone. If MTT's are your game, then Poker Pwnage is clearly the site for you.

Game Format Coverage: Mostly MTT, some SNG, and Cash

Poker VideosMTT
With over 210 MTT videos, you will receive the finest training available in MTT's at all levels and buy-ins. With a majority of videos on NLHE, there is also quality coverage for Omaha players, and even Stud FTOPS videos as well. There are also several excellent and highly recommended fundamental courses that will benefit all members regardless of game type and skill level. Developing an Overall Strategy, Chipping Up Early, How Stack Sizes Shape Decision Making, and Fundamental Mistakes Middle Limit Players Make, are some of the must see videos, and should be watched more than once. There are videos that focus in on every aspect of MTT play like: Final table play, early, mid, and late games, MTT's from start to finish, TAG styles, LAG styles, TAG/LAG styles, basic fundamentals, low buy-ins to large buy-ins, ect, ect, ect... Its all here for you to learn and enjoy. If you don't know where to start or what to watch, there is even an efficient rating system, to help point the way to the juicier videos.

SNG
While there are a limited number of SNG videos, they are quality. There is a highly rated set of videos on PLO8 too. If you are looking to solely focus on SNG's then this is probably not the site for you. The selection here will however be more that enough for the somewhat frequent sit-n-go player.

Cash
Cash game is covered at Poker Pwnage, but not the focus here. It seems that there is enough to cover the MTT player when they decide to play some cash, but not for a cash game specialist.

Cost Analysis:

Poker Pwnage is one of the more affordable coaching sites available on the internet. It is nice to see competitive rates paired with high quality training. All subscriptions are based on a $24.99 monthly rate. There is an initial activation fee of $35 for Monthly and Quarterly ($74.97) subscriptions. Semi-Annual ($149.94) and Annual ($299.88) subscriptions waive the $35 activation fee, offering the most value. There is also a free 2 day trial available if you sign up on the Monthly plan.  Implementing the coaching received here into your game can easily support these rates, even at the lower buy-ins. Payment options via FullTilt player transfer and paypal makes it easy too.

Poker coaching at Poker Pwnage
Overview:
It is hard to be objective about this site, as I found the experience here to be just what I was looking for. I absolutely recommend Poker Pwnage for any player at any level looking to study the finer points of MTT play and strategies. The manner and professionalism of the pros and members here is above par, and really creates a welcome family type atmosphere. There is a solid and active group of players here, and all are proud to be and support other Pwnage members. I was able to win a couple of the free coaching sessions given away each Saturday, and highly recommend this feature to all. Watching
my game be fully scrutinized live via skype, was like having a custom video personally made where I could ask questions as we went. Not to mention a little embarrassing at times too.. In our second session he shadowed my playas we discussed strategies solidifying what I had learned evenfurther. I cannot stress the benefits enough that having a live coach can do for your poker education. Zedveron was my coach for both sessions. He made it very easy to arrange and set up our sessions, and I learned more in those two hours (2hr 20mins to be exact) than ever before. I just look forward more more sessions in the future : )   Thanks Zedveron!!

If you are looking for MTT coaching, you should give Poker Pwnage a serious look.
Don't just take it from me either. There are great threads on Pocket 5's and 2+2 debating the merits of the top MTT coaching sites. You just won't be surprised to see who comes out on top.

Visit Poker Pwnage here to see what one of the best in MTT coaching has to offer.

I was going over my stats in Poker CoPilot and thought the graph of my bankroll on Pwnage says it all...
